Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, one of the most outspoken lawmakers on following COVID-19 restrictions, faced heavy criticism after video surfaced of an “indoor visit” to a San Francisco (SF) salon that briefly showed her not wearing a mask.

However, a statement released by Pelosi’s office denied any negligence.

“This business offered for the Speaker to come in on Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business. The Speaker complied with the rules as presented to her by this establishment,” said Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hammill in a statement.

Watch the footage aired by Fox News Channel:

It should be mentioned here that salons in SF had been closed since the month of March and were only notified they could reopen on September for “outdoor” hairstyling services only.

US President Donald Trump also reacted and said, “Crazy Nancy Pelosi is being decimated for having a beauty parlor opened, when all others are closed, and for not wearing a Mask – despite constantly lecturing everyone else. We will almost certainly take back the House, and send Nancy packing!”
