Tata Elxsi has announced the launch of ViTel™, an advanced Material Intelligence solution designed for medical device manufacturers. The solution has been co-developed with Viridium AI, a material intelligence platform company, and was officially introduced at the DeviceTalks Boston 2026.

The launch highlights Tata Elxsi’s growing focus on AI-powered MedTech engineering and regulatory compliance solutions for global healthcare enterprises.

What is ViTel™?

ViTel™ is an AI-driven platform that helps medical device manufacturers manage complex material intelligence challenges across sourcing, engineering, quality control, compliance, and regulatory readiness.

Medical device companies are increasingly facing challenges related to supplier dependencies, sourcing risks, changing regulations, and country-of-origin requirements. Much of this critical information is often spread across BOMs, ERP systems, PLM systems, supplier documents, and internal teams, making compliance and risk analysis a time-consuming manual process.

ViTel™ aims to solve this issue by creating a reusable Material Intelligence layer across enterprise systems. The platform enables manufacturers to:

  • Identify material and supplier dependencies
  • Assess sourcing and country-of-origin exposure
  • Evaluate alternative materials and suppliers
  • Understand product and material risks impacting cost and continuity
  • Improve regulatory and compliance readiness

The solution is powered by Viridium AI’s Knowledge Cloud, Chemical Digital Twin, and science-constrained AI models, transforming fragmented enterprise data into a connected knowledge graph covering products, parts, chemicals, suppliers, regulations, and supporting evidence.

Tata Elxsi Strengthens AI-Powered MedTech Capabilities

Tata Elxsi stated that ViTel™ integrates over three decades of MedTech engineering and regulatory expertise into the platform’s intelligence engine. This enables the solution to reason about material risks, sourcing strategies, and compliance decisions more effectively.

According to Sreevatsa Sahasranaman, Senior Vice President and Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Tata Elxsi, ViTel™ helps enterprises make faster and more confident decisions across sourcing, engineering, quality, and compliance workflows.

Viridium AI CEO Niraj Deo said the platform enables manufacturers to understand the “material DNA” of their products, turning product and material intelligence into a reusable enterprise asset.

Built Under Tata Elxsi’s STEP UP Innovation Program

ViTel™ has been co-developed through Tata Elxsi’s STEP UP co-innovation initiative, which focuses on partnering with high-potential deep-tech companies to develop next-generation enterprise solutions.

The partnership combines Tata Elxsi’s healthcare engineering expertise and enterprise reach with Viridium AI’s platform innovation and AI capabilities.

Industry Impact

The launch of ViTel™ comes at a time when healthcare and MedTech manufacturers are under increasing pressure to improve supply chain resilience, reduce compliance risks, and accelerate product development cycles.

AI-powered Material Intelligence platforms such as ViTel™ could play a critical role in helping medical device companies improve operational efficiency while ensuring regulatory compliance across global markets.
