Bollywood actress Kajol recently took a nostalgic trip down memory lane to celebrate a major milestone since the release of her critically acclaimed romantic thriller, Fanaa. Taking to social media, the actress shared a series of beautiful, romantic stills featuring herself and co-star Aamir Khan from the film. Along with the images, Kajol shared a candid and humorous behind-the-scenes memory, giving fans a glimpse into the challenging conditions the cast and crew endured while shooting the movie’s iconic sequences.
Sharing her thoughts, Kajol penned a witty and expressive caption that read, “20 years to Fanaa.. my daughter was 2 and a half years old and I was —— 😜 but what I remember most was Poland in all its glory.. -27 degrees Celsius, beautiful forests and sleds 🛷 used on sidewalks .. ! And off course the fact that I wore a thin salwar kameez while most everyone else was dressed in goose down 🧐.. what a blast from the past!”
In her post, Kajol vividly recalled the grueling outdoor schedule in Poland, describing the location in all its winter glory with stunning snow-covered forests and sleds being used on sidewalks. However, she highlighted the extreme weather, revealing that the temperature had plummeted to a bone-chilling -27 degrees Celsius. Despite the freezing conditions, the actress had to shoot her scenes wearing nothing but a thin salwar kameez to maintain her character’s look, while the rest of the crew got to stay warm, wrapped comfortably in heavy goose-down jackets. Taking a playful swipe at her own age and situation at the time, she also fondly mentioned that her daughter, Nysa, was just two-and-a-half years old during the film’s production.
Released on May 26, 2006, Fanaa is a highly acclaimed romantic thriller directed by Kunal Kohli and produced under the Yash Raj Films banner. The movie marked the first time powerhouse performers Aamir Khan and Kajol were paired together as an on-screen romantic couple, and it served as a highly anticipated comeback vehicle for Kajol after a brief hiatus. The plot follows the tragic and intense love story of Zooni Ali Baig, a blind Kashmiri woman, and Rehan Qadri, a charming Delhi tour guide who hides a dangerous double life as an insurgent. Beyond its gripping storyline and strong performances, the film is widely remembered for its evergreen soundtrack, featuring chartbusters like ‘Chand Sifarish’ and ‘Mere Haath Mein’, which helped propel the movie into becoming a massive commercial blockbuster and a critical success.
