How to Play NYT Connections
In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to organize these words into four sets of four by figuring out the hidden links that unite them. These groups could cover anything from video game franchises and book series sequels to shades of red or names of chain restaurants.
Beware: some words might fit into multiple themes, but there’s only one correct solution. You can shuffle and rearrange the grid to help spot the connections.
Each group is color-coded for your puzzling pleasure. The yellow group is the easiest to crack, followed by the green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words, hit Submit, and if you’re correct, those words will vanish from the grid, revealing their shared theme. Make a wrong guess, and it’ll count as a mistake. You’ve got just four mistakes to play with before the game ends.
