This week marks the much-anticipated superhero film HanuMan’s OTT premiere. On March 16 at 8 PM, the Hindi version of the movie will debut on JioCinema.
The streaming information for the movie’s other versions—including the Telugu original—has not yet been made public by the filmmakers. For a considerable amount of time, they have been keeping viewers in the dark regarding the movie’s OTT release.
Four weeks after its theatrical release, the movie became available on streaming services, setting a precedent for the industry. The movie’s developers appeared to want to give it a big release in the Hindi heartland, where major cinemas and screens will generally boycott Hindi films—original and dubbed—if they don’t have an eight-week OTT release window.

Even more than eight weeks after its first theatrical premiere, HanuMan is still not available on streaming services. On January 12, the movie debuted in conjunction with the Sankranti film festival.
Following its premiere in the Telugu states alongside Guntur Kaaram, the film encountered a number of challenges starring Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. HanuMan had to make do with a small number of screens, while the former was given the majority of the screens.
HanuMan’s struggle at the Telugu box office continued throughout its opening weekend, leaving the filmmakers a little irked. With other Sankranti releases failing to receive critical appreciation, HanuMan managed to resonate with mass audiences. And the rest was history.
HanuMan, which had an approximate expenditure of Rs 40 crore, went on to make over Rs 300 crore in revenue from its global sales. It has become the biggest hit among Telugu films released so far this year.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently thanked Teja Sajja, the film’s lead actor, and director Prasanth Varma for their enormous success.
ZEE5 is set to stream the South Indian versions of HanuMan, according to reports.
