Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal fever is the sparkling talk of the town in the current space. The audience are in awe of the actor’s brilliant performance and characterization. Animal has crossed the Rs 300 crore benchmark and is doing wonders at the box office. Ranbir Kapoor is riding high on success with the massive hit. However, amidst the movie’s buzz, an old video of Ranbir is doing rounds on social media.

A video has been surfacing for quite some now, showcasing an old interview of Ranbir over playing misogynistic characters. The show’s host asks Ranbir, “You’re doing a film with Luv Ranjan, who is a successful filmmaker. However, his films are steeped in misogyny. Do you as an actor worry or think about the art you are putting out?”

Hearing the question, Ranbir first asks how is the word spelt and corrects himself. He says that he has never played any misogynistic character before and is very conscious of the parts he does. The actor stated that if his character in some way belittles society or is belittling anything for that matter is wrong and he wouldn’t do that.

The Sanju star further added that it is important for him to understand his position and be conscious of it. He needs to be aware and represent certain value systems which he has to express. Therefore, the film with Luv Ranjan is not misogynistic in any manner.

Fans were quite in shock after coming across this particular segment which shows Ranbir’s stance. A user commented, “I am conscious with my parts and then bro did Animal movie.” Another wrote, “Hmm not his mistake, actually he didn’t know the meaning of misogyny.”

Though Animal is garnering immense love from the audience, many do not agree with it. There is a certain section of the population that believes the movie has a strong portrayal of misogynistic characters. It somehow acts in a manner of making women inferior and has toxic masculinity traits.

Animal is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri in key roles.
