Indian IT sector stocks traded sharply lower on May 12 2026 in the morning session. The BSE IT index declined 3.52% to 27,529.23, underperforming the broader market. The Nifty 50 was down 0.79% at 23,627.55 and the S&P BSE Sensex fell 1.01% to 75,250.16 as of around 10:48 AM.


Top Gainers in IT Sector

  • Sasken Technologies was the top performer, rising 5.56% on BSE to ₹1,725.30 and 6.78% on NSE to ₹1,745.40.
  • Infibeam Avenues gained 4.27% on BSE to ₹14.66 and 5.02% on NSE.
  • Black Box rose 0.94% on BSE and 2.28% on NSE.
  • Mindtree was nearly flat with a marginal gain of 0.09–0.14%.


Major Losers in IT Sector

  • Aurionpro Soln witnessed the steepest fall, declining 8.86% on BSE to ₹797.15 and 8.89% on NSE.
  • Sonata Software dropped 5.49–5.67%.
  • Birlasoft fell 5.15–5.17%.
  • Persistent Systems declined 4.89–4.91%.
  • Infosys was down 3.87–3.90%.
  • TCS fell 4.19–4.35%.

Other notable decliners included Happiest Minds Technologies (-3.80 to -4.11%), LTIMindtree (-3.65 to -3.67%), KPIT Technologies, Cyient, Coforge, Eclerx Services, Firstsource Solutions, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, and Zensar Technologies, which saw losses ranging from 2.5% to 3.9%.
Most other IT stocks including HCL Technologies, Mphasis, L&T Technology Services, and Tata Elxsi also traded in the red.
