The truth is finding a new home on Hulu, and it’s bringing a massive wave of talent with it. According to a report by Deadline, Ryan Coogler’s highly anticipated reimagining of The X-Files has officially cast eight actors in guest roles, headlined by recent Oscar winner Amy Madigan and the legendary Steve Buscemi.

Joining Madigan—who just took home the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Weapons—and Buscemi is a powerhouse ensemble including Ben Foster, Devery Jacobs (Reservation Dogs), Lochlyn Munro, Tantoo Cardinal, Joel D. Montgrand, and Sofia Grace Clifton. This group joins the previously announced series leads, Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler, who will portray two decorated but fundamentally different FBI agents assigned to the bureau’s long-shuttered division of unexplained phenomena.

The reboot is being produced under the Onyx Collective and 20th Television, with Ryan Coogler serving as a central creative force. Fresh off his Original Screenplay Oscar win for Sinners, Coogler is set to write and direct the pilot. He also executive produces alongside original series creator Chris Carter, ensuring a bridge between the show’s iconic legacy and this modern vision. Jennifer Yale (See, Outlander) has been named showrunner.

With Coogler at the helm and a cast that blends seasoned veterans with rising stars, the reboot is positioning itself as a gritty, sophisticated procedural for the modern era. By moving the “Spooky” investigations to Hulu, the series looks to explore 21st-century paranoia with the same intensity that made the original a global phenomenon.
