Ashish Chauhan, Chief Executive Officer of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has welcomed the reduction in tariffs on Indian goods by the United States, calling it a positive move for global trade and the India–US partnership.

In a post shared on social media, Chauhan said that following talks between US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, tariffs on Indian goods will come down sharply from 50% to 18% with immediate effect. He described the development as a big win for businesses, supply chains and bilateral ties between the two countries.

Chauhan congratulated the teams involved in concluding what he termed a historic deal and said the move would support global trade flows and strengthen the India–US relationship.
