Shares of Finolex Cables are likely to remain in focus after the company informed stock exchanges about a tax order issued by the Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) authorities in Ahmedabad.

In a regulatory filing dated December 31, 2025, Finolex Cables said it has received an order dated December 24, 2025, issued by the Superintendent, AR–IV, Division–VII, CGST Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The order was received by the company on December 30, 2025 .

What is the issue?

According to the disclosure, the CGST authority has confirmed a demand raised under a Show Cause Notice related to input tax credit (ITC) availed by the company for FY2018-19, FY2019-20, and FY2022-23. The allegation is that certain GST credits claimed by the company were not reflected in GSTR-2A, which led to the confirmation of the demand.

Quantum of demand

The total tax demand confirmed stands at Rs 15.19 lakh, comprising Rs 13.94 lakh towards tax and Rs 1.25 lakh towards interest. Finolex Cables clarified that the amount is not material and does not have a major impact on the company’s financial position or operations .

The company stated that it has the option to file an appeal before the appellate authority, and appropriate steps will be taken in accordance with applicable laws. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations, in line with statutory requirements.

While the monetary impact is limited, the update is likely to keep Finolex Cables on investors’ radar as markets track regulatory and compliance-related developments.
