India’s Parliamentary session began earlier this week but now it is considering to cut short the sessions as 30 lawmakers were infected by COVID-19.

The parliament resumed its session on 14th September for the first time in six months. It was supposed to function till 1st October but according to two officials, there is a possibility that the duration can be reduced by a week.

The government has also made daily tests mandatory for the journalists entering the parliament to cover the sessions from Saturday.

India has recorded a total of 93,337 new infections in the last 24 hours, this number as appeared as the highest single-day caseload in the world since August.
