More things remain the same, the more things change. MrBeast and PewDiePie, two of YouTube’s most influential channels in 2023, are recognisable names that have dominated the internet for years.
However, a look at the top channels of this year reveals YouTube’s enormous global impact, with only eight of the top 30 channels being based in the United States. Only five of the channels in the compilation are led by women, including Nastya, Shfa, and Maria Clara, three young vloggers. The list also leans significantly towards men. Listed below are the channels:
1. MR. BEAST

SUBSCRIBERS: 136 MILLION

FAMOUS FOR: The most well-known name on YouTube and the most subscribed YouTuber in the entire world is Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson. His ambitious challenge videos (such replicating a real-life “Squid Game”) and popular charitable deeds have made him the most well-known. (“I adopted every dog in a dog shelter”). Donaldson’s YouTube empire has also given rise to a variety of consumer enterprises, such as the snack company Feastables and the ghost restaurant MrBeast Burger.
2. PEWDIEPIE

FAMOUS FOR: For five years, Felix Kjellberg, a Swedish gamer and commentator, held the title of YouTube’s most popular personality till T-Series, an Indian media corporation, overtook him in 2019. Kjellberg and the other top-ranked channels on this list, such as Mr. Beast and German Germendia’s channel HolaSoyGerman, have been engaged in a quiet subscriber war for a while. By making jokes while filming himself playing Minecraft, the YouTuber attracted his initial group of followers in 2010.
3. LIKE NASTYA

FAMOUS FOR: One of the most well-liked child-themed YouTube channels is centred on the nine-year-old Russian-American YouTuber. FAMOUS FOR: TheSoul Publishing, a company with offices in Cyprus and more than 200 million members across its multiple YouTube channels, owns the popular media outlet. Bright Side, which was founded in 2017, features a wide range of content, including lessons on self-improvement, testing, fitness, and space exploration. The organisation publishes a number of films each day, with some of the most well-liked ones being “7 Riddles That Will Test Your Brain Power” and “13 Tips on How to Survive Wild Animal Attacks.”
