Cochin Shipyard Limited on Thursday announced that its wholly owned subsidiary Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (Udupi-CSL) has secured a notable order from Ocean Sparkle Limited, an Adani Group company, for the construction of four ASD (Azimuthing Stern Drive) tugs with 70-ton bollard pull capacity.
The company said the tugs will be built under the Approved Standard Tug Design and Specifications (ASTDS) framework issued by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India.
As per the disclosure, deliveries of the tugs are scheduled to begin from November 2028 and will be completed by June 2029.
Cochin Shipyard classified the contract as a “Notable” order. As per the company’s order classification framework, notable orders fall in the ₹100 crore to ₹250 crore range.
The company also clarified that none of its promoters, promoter group entities, or group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract. It further stated that the deal does not qualify as a related party transaction.
