Sky has renewed Saturday Night Live UK for a second season after its successful debut, featuring live sketches from London with rising comedy stars. The inaugural cast—Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, Emma Sidi, and Paddy Young—delivered British-flavored satire hosted by Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, and Riz Ahmed.

Originally six episodes starting March 2026, strong ratings extended it to eight 75-minute shows on Sky One/NOW. Season 2 promises more high-wire energy with fresh hosts and musical guests like Wet Leg and Wolf Alice. Launched March 21, 2026, the Lorne Michaels-produced spin-off adapted SNL’s live sketch format with “Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!”—capturing British audiences through eight extended 75-minute episodes on Sky One/NOW.

Season 1 dazzled with hosts Tina Fey (Wet Leg musical guest), Jamie Dornan (Wolf Alice), and Riz Ahmed (Kasabian), blending US absurdity with UK satire on politics, royalty, and culture. Despite traditional TV dips, social clips amassed 86 million views, fueling viral sketches and TikTok trends.

Sky’s extension from six to eight episodes mid-season underscored early buzz, positioning SNL UK against Taskmaster and Mock the Week revivals. Season 2 expands to 12 episodes airing autumn 2026 into early 2027, teasing bigger hosts like Phoebe Waller-Bridge or Ed Sheeran alongside fresh musical acts. Executive producer Michaels praised the “uniquely British chaos,” while cast favorites like Magliano and Sidi emerged as breakout impressions specialists.

This renewal cements Sky’s comedy push amid BBC cuts, rivaling US streaming imports. PopCrave amplified global hype, drawing American curiosity about transatlantic evolution. With Season 1 clips dominating feeds, SNL UK proves live sketch comedy thrives in London—exporting irreverence with Union Jack edge for multiplex laughs.
