Subros has received a major boost to its electric mobility ambitions after securing a new business award worth approximately ₹1,280 crore from Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL). The order relates to the supply of locally manufactured electric compressors for Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming electric vehicle and hybrid vehicle programmes, with supplies expected to span nearly seven years across multiple models.
The confirmation for this business award has been received through Suzuki Motor Corporation, reinforcing the strong and long-standing relationship between Subros and the Suzuki group. The order will be executed under the existing Basic Purchase Agreement with MSIL and is classified as a domestic contract.
This development marks a strategic milestone for Subros as it strengthens its position in India’s fast-evolving electric mobility ecosystem. Electric compressors are a critical component in EVs and hybrid vehicles, playing a key role in thermal management and energy efficiency. With this order, Subros deepens its presence in advanced automotive technologies aligned with future mobility trends.
To support localisation and ensure global-quality manufacturing standards, Subros will undertake the localisation of electric compressors with technical assistance from DENSO Corporation and Toyota Industries Corporation, both of which are globally recognised leaders in automotive technology. This collaboration is expected to enhance Subros’ technological capabilities while reducing dependence on imports.
The order value of around ₹1,280 crore will be spread over the life cycle of various EV and hybrid models and is expected to contribute positively to Subros’ future revenues. The execution period is estimated at about seven years, commencing from the respective start of production of the models.
Subros has clarified that the order does not involve any promoter or promoter group interest in the awarding entity.
