Mortal Kombat II continued its decent run at the Indian box office on Tuesday, managing to hold steady despite the expected weekday slowdown. The action fantasy film released on May 8 and has performed better in metro cities and premium formats.
As per estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹0.46 crore on Day 5, taking its total India net collection beyond ₹6 crore.
Directed by Simon McQuoid, the film stars Karl Urban, Lewis Tan and Hiroyuki Sanada. The movie witnessed its strongest business during the opening weekend before collections dipped during weekdays.
Globally, Mortal Kombat II has continued to perform strongly, especially in North America and parts of Europe. Trade analysts believe the franchise fanbase and action-heavy appeal could help the film maintain stability until the next major Hollywood release arrives.
