Hollywood family mystery-comedy The Sheep Detectives continued its decent performance at the worldwide box office on Day 5 after releasing on May 8. The film has managed to attract audiences with its unusual blend of humour, mystery and emotional storytelling.
According to reports by Box Office Mojo, the movie has crossed the $31 million mark globally within five days of release. North America remains the film’s biggest market, while international territories have also contributed steadily to the overall earnings.
Directed by Kyle Balda, the film features an ensemble cast including Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Bryan Cranston and Patrick Stewart. Based on Leonie Swann’s bestselling novel Three Bags Full, the story follows a group of sheep attempting to solve the mysterious murder of their shepherd.
The film has received largely positive reviews from critics, particularly for its voice performances, emotional moments and family-friendly appeal. Many reviewers have also praised the movie’s unique concept and visual storytelling style.
Trade analysts believe The Sheep Detectives could continue to perform steadily over the coming weekends due to strong word-of-mouth and limited competition in the family entertainment genre. The film’s performance has especially surprised industry trackers who initially predicted a much smaller opening worldwide.
