GMR Airports Limited (GAL) has officially begun duty-free operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi, from 00:00 hours on July 28, 2025.

This follows the company’s earlier announcement dated August 21, 2024, when it was selected as the successful bidder for the Delhi Duty Free Concession. On the same date, GAL signed a license agreement to develop, operate, manage, and maintain the duty-free area at the airport.

As per the agreement, GMR Airports has now taken charge of the duty-free space, meeting the scheduled start date mentioned in the contract.

The company notified the stock exchanges about the commencement of operations in line with disclosure requirements.

In the meantime, GMR Airports’ shares ended Friday’s session at ₹89.76, slightly down from the opening price of ₹91.14. During the day, the stock touched a high of ₹91.80 and a low of ₹89.62. Despite minor fluctuations, it remained close to its recent trading range. The company’s 52-week high stands at ₹97.00, while the 52-week low is ₹67.75.
