Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has clarified that the proposed 50% tariff on copper by the United States, effective August 1, 2025, is not expected to impact its operations.

In a regulatory filing, the company stated that it mines copper ore and processes it into copper concentrate, which is sold primarily within India. As a result, the U.S. import tariff will have no material effect on HCL’s business.

The clarification was issued in response to recent media reports about the upcoming U.S. tariff, with HCL assuring investors there is no direct export exposure that would warrant concern.
