In a major development for India’s energy and mobility sector, Adani Total Gas Ltd. (ATGL) and Jio-bp (the mobility brand of Reliance BP Mobility Ltd.) have signed a strategic agreement aimed at transforming the auto fuel retail landscape across the country.
Under the new partnership, select ATGL fuel stations will begin retailing Jio-bp’s high-performance petrol and diesel, while ATGL’s CNG dispensing units will be integrated into select Jio-bp outlets within ATGL’s authorised Geographical Areas (GA). This unique synergy will expand access to a full spectrum of clean and efficient fuel options, improving service for millions of Indian motorists.
ATGL, a joint venture between Adani Group and TotalEnergies, is one of India’s largest city gas distribution (CGD) companies. It currently operates over 650 CNG stations, providing natural gas to households, commercial establishments, and the transport sector. The company also offers Compressed Biogas (CBG), EV charging, and LNG solutions.
Jio-bp, a joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited and bp, has a robust network of over 2,000 retail outlets nationwide. The company focuses on fuel retailing, mobility solutions, and low-carbon alternatives, including EV infrastructure and advanced convenience formats.
The agreement covers both existing and future stations, enhancing operational efficiencies and customer convenience. It’s a strategic move that combines infrastructure, technology, and market reach to accelerate the adoption of cleaner, high-quality fuels in India.
This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in the journey of both companies toward sustainable energy transition, offering consumers more choices and a superior fuel retail experience.
