Waaree Energies, a leading name in India’s renewable energy sector, has inaugurated its advanced 5.4 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility at Degam, Chikhli, Navsari, Gujarat. The company officially commenced commercial operations on March 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM, marking a significant milestone in India’s solar manufacturing capabilities.
This cutting-edge facility was unveiled in the presence of Gujarat’s Honourable Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, along with key ministers and dignitaries, reinforcing the company’s pivotal role in India’s renewable energy sector.
Spanning 150 acres, with a built-up area of 101 acres, this advanced manufacturing facility underscores Waaree’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. Equipped with world-class high-efficiency solar cell technology, the plant is a result of relentless research-driven innovation and precision engineering. More than just a manufacturing hub, the gigafactory aligns with India’s larger decarbonisation goals, ensuring a greener and more energy-independent future.
Beyond its technological advancements, the Chikhli facility is a catalyst for economic growth, generating over 9,500 direct jobs and around 30,000 indirect employment opportunities. This investment in human capital not only strengthens the local economy but also propels India’s ambition of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
