Axis Bank followed, slipping 3.0% to settle at ₹1,325.3. The banking major weighed on the index despite overall strength in broader markets.
Bharat Electronics dropped 1.8% to ₹436.4, while Tata Consumer Products declined 1.6% to ₹1,155. Both stocks witnessed mild profit booking.
Shares of Trent ended 1.0% lower at ₹4,256, giving up some recent gains.
Among other losers, ICICI Bank fell 0.7% to ₹1,316.6, and Eternal also declined 0.7% to ₹255.0.
FMCG major Nestlé India slipped 0.7% to ₹1,411.7, while Asian Paints edged down 0.3% to ₹2,478.1.
Meanwhile, Coal India recorded a marginal decline of 0.2%, closing at ₹455.0.
Despite these declines, the broader market sentiment remained positive, with benchmark indices closing higher for the day.
