The trailer for the film ‘Tera Kya Hoga Lovely’, starring Ilena D’Cruz and Randeep Hooda, has been published. This marks Ileana’s return to the screen after her role in the 2021 film ‘The Big Bull’.

The film, directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, explores India’s preoccupation with fair skin and dowry. The teaser depicts a social comedy-drama about the societal limits that shape beauty standards. It masterfully balances comedy with earnestness of message while maintaining the plot’s depth.

The film is set in Haryana and stars Ileana as Lovely, a dark-complexioned girl who seeks a suitable marriage match but eventually decides to pursue further education. Randeep Hooda plays a cop who falls for her despite her skin colour. However, problems arise when his family finds his emotions for a dark-skinned woman.

Sony Pictures Films India’s ‘Tera Kya Hoga Lovely’ campaign aims to spark conversation over the country’s infatuation with fair-skinned brides and big dowries. This is Ileana’s first film since giving birth to her son Koa Phoenix Dolan last year, and it will be released on International Women’s Day, March 8.
