Since the government banned the popular video-sharing app TikTok and 58 other Chinese apps, there is a huge section of the population who wants the original TikTok application back as they had millions of followers in it. Scammers got a new opportunity to scam the innocent people that way, they saw the market and start promoting the malware in the name of “TikTok Pro”.
There is a Whatsapp message which is currently being forwarded at a huge scale, which short of claims that TikTok is now available in India in the form of TikTok Pro.
The text message reads, “Enjoy TikTok Videos and also make Creative Videos again. Now TikTok is only Available in (TikTok pro) So Download from below.” The message also includes a link to the APK file of TikTok Pro.
But when you download the application, it shows the real icon of the TikTok but remains functionless. The app, however, demands the permission to camera, image gallery, mic, and few others but the sole reason of application indicates that the app is made for stealing your data.
The Google Playstore recently banned 25 applications which were stealing your Facebook login data while Facebook itself admitted that around 5,000 developers were getting your data from inactive apps.
Business Upturn recommends that at the times like this, please do not install any application which is not available on Google Playstore, the applications can steal your data or can cause the harm to your Mobile. Moreover, some of the applications can steal your bank details too, which can be fatal, if the unknown developers got hold of it.
