Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group and the country’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has secured a significant order of 715 vehicles from VRL Logistics, one of India’s largest surface transportation companies. The announcement, made on May 25, 2026, and intimated to both NSE and BSE under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015, underscores the deepening commercial ties between the two industry stalwarts.

The order comprises a mix of AVTR 3120 haulage trucks, BOSS 1615 trucks, and Oyster staff buses, reflecting the diverse operational requirements of VRL Logistics across its vast network. Of the total 715 vehicles, 300 trucks have already been delivered, with the remaining 415 scheduled for execution within the current year, signalling a well-paced and structured rollout.

Dr. Anand Sankeshwar, Managing Director of VRL Logistics, expressed strong confidence in Ashok Leyland’s product quality and after-sales support, noting that the order represents a strategic deepening of the partnership aimed at driving higher logistics efficiency. He highlighted the company’s expanding service network as a key operational advantage that influenced the decision.

From Ashok Leyland’s side, Ms. Madhavi Deshmukh, National Sales Head for MHCV, described the order win as a testament to the trust VRL Logistics places in the company’s technology and performance. She emphasised Ashok Leyland’s continued focus on developing advanced, safe, and efficient mobility solutions tailored to the evolving demands of the logistics sector.

The trucks are equipped with state-of-the-art features and advanced technologies designed to minimise maintenance downtime, reduce unplanned stoppages, and enhance overall fleet productivity — outcomes that are expected to improve VRL Logistics’ vehicle uptime and long-term profitability. This milestone further cements Ashok Leyland’s position as a trusted and preferred mobility partner in India’s commercial vehicle landscape.
