With 14,933 fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours, India’s Coronavirus tally has crossed the 4.4 lakh mark. The death toll reached 14,011 as 312 patients succumbed to the Coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.

As per the figures released this morning, the country has 1,78,014 active cases at the moment. Over 2,48,189 patients have recovered so far. In the last 24 hours, over 11,000 patients recovered from the infection.

Maharashtra remains the worst-affect state in India with over 1,35,796 Coronavirus cases followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu, both with over 60,000 cases each.

As per the government, the testing infrastructure for the Coronavirus infection is being ramped up. The number of government labs for Coronavirus testing has been increased to 723 and private labs have been increased to 262. Over 71 lakh samples have been tested for the infection as of June 22.

According to the data released by Johns Hopkins University, the total number of Coronavirus cases have reached the 90 lakh mark, whereas the number of deaths recorded has risen to 4.71 lakh across the globe. The World Health Organisation has called for an increase in the production of the steroid dexamethasone, which has shown a positive outcome in many critically ill patients.
