Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Main Actor Nahin Hoon has witnessed a slow run at the Indian box office since its release on May 8. Despite receiving appreciation for its performances and experimental storytelling, the film has failed to attract mainstream audiences in theatres.
As per reports by Sacnilk, the film has collected approximately ₹0.14 crore India net within its first three days. Meanwhile, reports by BoxOffice India 24 suggest that the total India net collection stands close to ₹0.19 crore, with Day 4 occupancy remaining limited across major cities.
Directed by Aditya Kripalani, the drama stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui alongside Chitrangada Satarupa. The story revolves around a struggling Mumbai actor who forms an emotional connection with a retired banker through virtual acting sessions.
Trade analysts believe the film’s niche subject and limited theatrical release have affected its commercial performance. While critics praised the lead performances, the movie opened to very low occupancy in multiplexes across India.
The film is now dependent on strong word-of-mouth and urban audiences to maintain stability during the weekdays.
