Speaking in the video, Bethell reflected on his recent T20 World Cup semi-final knock, saying:
“I definitely heard the whole of Wankhede go silent, but I did hear a few RCB chants, which I found remarkable. That just shows the support.”
In the T20 World Cup semi-final, Jacob Bethell played a brilliant innings, scoring 105 off just 48 balls, including 7 sixes and 8 fours. However, despite his heroic knock, England fell short and lost to India by just 7 runs.
When asked how his life changed after that knock, Bethell said, I wouldn’t say my life changed. I saw a few edits floating around, and the fans here have been very creative with their digital work.
He added more on that, It was a great innings and I enjoyed every minute of it, but it was still a bit bittersweet not getting over the line. I’m sure you guys were pretty happy that I didn’t manage to finish it.
Meanwhile, teammate Phil Salt also praised Bethell’s performance in the video saying, He played really well. A World Cup semi-final in Mumbai is a big occasion, and although we ended up on the wrong side, I was really pleased with the way he carried himself and the way he played. You guys call him ‘Star boy’ for a reason.
Jacob Bethell featured in just two matches in the IPL last season, scoring 67 runs at an impressive strike rate of 171.80. Considering his recent form in the T20 World Cup, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be keen to utilise him effectively and make the most of his abilities this season and want to defend their title.
