João Cancelo has written his name into European football history after helping FC Barcelona win the La Liga title this season.

Barcelona sealed the league crown with a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid in El Clasico, confirming the title with three games still left to play. The triumph also marked another successful campaign under Hansi Flick, who guided the club to consecutive league titles.

Cancelo’s success carried even greater significance on a personal level. The Portuguese full-back became the first player in football history to win league titles in four of Europe’s top five leagues.

The Barcelona loanee has now lifted league trophies in Serie A, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, and La Liga during his career. His remarkable achievement highlights both his consistency and his impact across different European competitions.

Cancelo previously won Serie A titles during his time with Juventus FC. He later added Premier League success with Manchester City FC before winning the Bundesliga during his loan spell at FC Bayern Munich. Now, he has completed the historic set with Barcelona in Spain.

The Portuguese defender is currently playing for Barcelona on loan from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal SFC. Despite uncertainty around his long-term future, Cancelo has remained an important figure in Barcelona’s squad throughout the campaign.
