Four time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen has received massive praise from fellow racing driver Logan Sargeant amid growing speculation about the Dutch star’s future outside Formula 1.
Sargeant openly admitted he would love Verstappen as his team mate in endurance racing and even claimed the Red Bull driver would “most likely kick everyone’s a**” if he entered the World Endurance Championship.
Logan Sargeant wants Max Verstappen as WEC team mate
The comments came as rumours around Verstappen’s long term Formula 1 future continue to grow.
Sargeant, who currently races for Ford in endurance racing, said sharing a car with Verstappen would be both a “huge privilege” and a massive competitive advantage.
The former Williams F1 driver praised Verstappen’s speed, consistency and technical understanding, calling him the best driver he has ever seen.
According to Sargeant, Verstappen’s experience in Formula 1 would allow him to adapt instantly to endurance racing without much difficulty.
Max Verstappen linked with possible WEC and Le Mans future
Speculation around Verstappen’s future has intensified in recent months as the Dutch driver continues to express frustration with Formula 1’s upcoming 2026 regulations.
Reports earlier this year suggested Verstappen was seriously considering retirement from Formula 1 if the new rules negatively impact racing quality.
However, leaving Formula 1 would not necessarily mean leaving motorsport entirely.
Verstappen has openly spoken about his interest in endurance racing and competing in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in the future.
He recently returned to the Nürburgring endurance series where he impressed with strong performances before a disqualification due to a tyre regulation issue.
Ford and Verstappen links continue to grow
The possibility of Verstappen joining Ford in endurance racing has become a major talking point because of the company’s growing relationship with Red Bull Racing.
Ford is set to become Red Bull’s engine partner for Formula 1’s new era starting in 2026 through the Red Bull Ford Powertrains partnership.
Ford Performance boss Mark Rushbrook previously confirmed that discussions with Verstappen about sportscar racing have already taken place.
The company is also preparing for a bigger future in hypercar racing, making a potential Verstappen move seem increasingly realistic.
Verstappen future remains one of F1’s biggest stories
Despite still competing at the top of Formula 1, Verstappen’s growing interest in endurance racing continues to attract attention across the motorsport world.
Many fans and drivers believe his aggressive racing style and consistency would make him an immediate contender in WEC and Le Mans competition.
For now, Verstappen remains focused on Formula 1 and the upcoming Nürburgring 24 Hours appearance, but speculation around his future beyond Red Bull and Formula 1 is only becoming stronger.
