Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd. (ABD), India’s largest domestic spirits company by volume, has taken a big step to strengthen its supply chain and improve profitability. The company today inaugurated a state-of-the-art PET bottle manufacturing facility at its integrated manufacturing hub in Rangapur, Telangana.

With an annual capacity of over 600 million bottles, the new PET plant will fulfill a large part of ABD’s packaging needs. Built at an investment of around ₹115 crore, the facility allows ABD to produce PET bottles in-house, cutting down reliance on external suppliers, lowering logistics costs, and boosting overall supply chain efficiency.

The plant is strategically located within ABD’s largest integrated alcobev facility in Telangana, which also houses an ENA distillery, an IMFL bottling unit, and the upcoming single malt distillery. The PET unit features highly automated robotics-based packaging systems, Japanese energy-efficient equipment, and advanced recycling capabilities, reflecting ABD’s focus on technology and sustainability.

This commissioning is part of ABD’s broader backward integration program, valued at around ₹525 crore. The program includes the new PET bottling unit, India’s first single malt distillery in Rangapur, and the expansion of its recently acquired ENA distillery in Maharashtra. Together, these initiatives are expected to enhance operational efficiency and improve gross margins by roughly 300 basis points by FY28.
