A poignant moment between two of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars has gone viral, capturing the somber atmosphere at the residence of the late veteran producer RB Choudary. In a widely shared video, Thalapathy Vijay is seen visiting the grieving family to pay his last respects, where he shared an emotional encounter with the producer’s son, actor Jiiva.
According to a report by NDTV, the video shows a visibly moved Vijay struggling to hold back his own tears as he approached Jiiva. The two actors, who famously shared the screen in the 2012 blockbuster Nanban, shared a long, silent embrace. Vijay was seen holding Jiiva closely, offering words of comfort as the Rangam actor broke down while mourning his father’s demise.
RB Choudary, the founder of the prestigious production house Super Good Films, passed away recently, leaving a massive void in the South Indian film industry. Having produced over 90 films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, he was a monumental figure who played a pivotal role in the early careers of many superstars, including Vijay. The production house is responsible for some of Vijay’s most defining hits, such as Poove Unakkaga and Thulladha Manamum Thullum.
The footage of Vijay’s visit has touched the hearts of fans across social media, with many pointing out the genuine bond between the two actors. Despite his own superstardom and busy schedule, Vijay’s presence at the funeral and his raw emotional reaction highlighted the deep respect he held for the veteran producer and his family.
Several other prominent figures from the film fraternity also visited to pay their respects, but it was the silent strength and empathy displayed by Vijay toward his former co-star that has become the defining image of the day.
