Mumbai’s most beloved Ganpati idol, Lalbaugcha Raja, began its visarjan journey on Sunday, drawing massive crowds of devotees to Girgaon Chowpatty beach. However, the much-anticipated immersion faced delays due to high tide and technical challenges. Officials have confirmed that the immersion is now expected to take place around 11 pm once the tide conditions are favorable.

The idol was taken out of the pandal yesterday, with lakhs of devotees joining the procession to witness the final journey of “Bappa.” Among those present was businessman Anant Ambani, who joined the immersion rituals on Anant Chaturdashi, the concluding day of the Ganpati festival.
Mandal honorary secretary Sudhir Salavi explained that local fishermen had suggested waiting for the next high tide, which would allow the raft carrying the idol to float smoothly. “The immersion will be carried out during that time,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad witnessed a record scale of celebrations, with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) confirming that over 2.70 lakh idols were immersed in water bodies by Sunday evening.
As Mumbai waits for the final visarjan of Lalbaugcha Raja, live visuals of the farewell continue to capture the devotion and grandeur surrounding the iconic idol’s immersion.
