Kernex Microsystems has recently announced the award of a significant contract by North Central Railways for the provision of the KA VACH Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS).
This project, part of a larger initiative to enhance railway safety, also includes the installation of towers and a 4X48 fibre optic cable (OFC) backbone between the Shuteshwar (INCL) and Dholpur (INCL) sections of the North Central Railway network. The contract, awarded to the KERNEX-KEC Consortium, is valued at Rs. 85.14 Crores (inclusive of GST at 18%).
The project is expected to be completed within 500 days from the date of the Letter of Acceptance (LoA). This contract is part of a broader initiative, with the total value of all KA VACH contracts awarded since April 2024 reaching Rs. 2,470.25 Crores. As the lead member in the consortium, Kernex Microsystems plays a crucial role in advancing railway safety and infrastructure through this state-of-the-art technology.
With a focus on domestic railway safety, this project underscores Kernex Microsystems’ commitment to modernizing India’s railway system. The KA VACH system, which is designed to prevent train collisions, will significantly enhance the safety of rail travel in the region.
