Fortis Healthcare Limited has announced that the Tokyo District Court has concluded the preparatory and oral proceedings in the litigation filed by Northern TK Venture Pte Ltd (NTK) against Daiichi Sankyo Company Limited. The judgement is scheduled to be announced on 10 September 2026.
The case involves NTK, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of IHH Healthcare Berhad, which is a promoter shareholder of Fortis Healthcare. The proceedings are part of a material litigation case that has been ongoing, with previous announcements made on various dates including 13 July 2018, 15 August 2018, and 19 February 2026, among others.
The litigation is connected to a series of transactions involving NTK’s subscription of 235,294,117 new equity shares in Fortis Healthcare through a preferential allotment. Additionally, NTK initiated mandatory open offers for the acquisition of up to 197,025,660 Fortis shares and 4,894,308 shares of Fortis Malar Hospitals Limited.
