Ahmed Khan, the acclaimed director and choreographer, has collaborated with some of the biggest names from the industry including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. He recently shared a heartwarming anecdote from the shoot of song ‘Chaand Taare’ from the movie Yes Boss with SRK in 1997.
While talking about the shoot, which happened on the streets of Bandstand, Mumbai, he said, “When I was shooting Chaand Tare, it was a very inspirational song. The song meant a lot to me, Shah Rukh Khan… and many youngsters who were involved in it. Javed ji wrote it like a young boy who wants to achieve a lot in life like everything he wants… So when I had planned the song I wanted to capture that he is a normal guy in the streets of Mumbai but whatever he is doing he is thinking big. We were shooting with kids and all various cartoon characters, so the song was a double beat and I suggested Jatin Lalit make it a single beat and they took it so positively.”
The choreographer added that while they were shooting outside Mannat, but it was not Mannat back then. Ahmed recalled how King Khan jumped on a Parsi’s vehicle, as a part of filming, to which he was ousted by the guard. “I remember Shah Rukh telling me shot lena hain Khareed lu kya and I said him Yes buy it and then we will shoot nicely here,” remembered Ahmed.
