Top Gainers in the Energy Sector

Suzlon Energy was the day’s top gainer in the sector, rising 3.88% on both BSE (₹55.98) and NSE (₹56.00).

K.P. Energy climbed 3.47% on BSE to ₹365.00. The stock is listed only on BSE.

Inox Green Energy added 3.09% on NSE (₹181.97) and 3.06% on BSE (₹182.10). Both renewable energy names — Suzlon, K.P. Energy, and Inox Green — were among the session’s strongest performers in the sector.

HPCL gained 2.37% on BSE (₹382.25) and 2.36% on NSE (₹382.30), making it the session’s best performer among the state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs).

Selan Exploration rose 2.32% on BSE (₹632.95) and 2.14% on NSE (₹632.75).

BPCL and Mahanagar Gas both gained 1.74% on BSE, trading at ₹313.40 and ₹1,148.90 respectively.

IOC added 1.50% on BSE (₹145.55). Petronet LNG was up 1.49% on NSE (₹277.53).


Notable Laggards

MRPL was the session’s sharpest decliner among energy stocks, falling 6.92% on BSE (₹173.65) and 6.77% on NSE (₹173.77).

Chennai Petroleum dropped 3.36% on NSE (₹1,000.25) and 3.20% on BSE (₹1,001.00). Both MRPL and Chennai Petroleum are refining-focused companies and moved against the broader OMC recovery trend seen in BPCL, HPCL, and IOC.

Confidence Petroleum fell 3.07% on BSE (₹53.65). It is not listed on NSE.

Gujarat Gas was down 2.28% on NSE (₹743.10) and 2.11% on BSE (₹745.60).


Large-Cap Energy Stocks

Reliance Industries added 0.60% on BSE (₹1,335.60) and 0.50% on NSE (₹1,334.40). ONGC was nearly flat, up 0.07% on NSE (₹285.00). GAIL gained 0.88%–0.91% across both exchanges, trading around ₹167.
