Ananya Panday got candid in a recent interview on her journey in the Hindi film industry, and reflected how she felt “completely raw” during her debut movie Student Of The Year 2. During an interview with Forbes India, she shared that she used to visit her father Chunky Panday’s film sets as a child and had little knowledge about filmmaking.

Ananya discussed her acting process and the challenges she faced while shooting her debut film. When asked about how her acting process has changed, Ananya said it has completely transformed. The actress revealed that she started in the industry without having any formal training or experience, as she went directly to the film set from the school. She added that she would not change her journey, and is indeed grateful for everything that she has learnt.

Ananya noted that she struggled during her debut film, as she rarely visited her father’s film sets, which in return gained her little knowledge about filmmaking. She went on to admit that she did not understand how the cameras worked or the difference between wide and close shots.

While she thought that filmmaking as a straight process, believing that one has just do a take once for the camera to capture. However, it took her time to understand that filmmaking also involves understanding of angles, lighting, and various technical aspects.
