State Bank of India (SBI) has released the list of candidates nominated for the election of four directors to its Central Board, scheduled for 15th May 2026. The election will take place during the General Meeting of Shareholders, which will be conducted via Video Conferencing (VC) and Other Audio Visual Means (OAVM) at 3:00 PM.
The bank has identified eight candidates whose nominations have been validated under Section 19(c) of the State Bank of India Act, 1955. The candidates are Shri Arun Ananth Kamath, Shri K.R. Ashok, Shri Dharmendra Singh Shekhawat, Shri Khurshed Rustom Dordi, Shri Deepak Arora, Shri Sandeep Natwarlal Shah, Dr. Sandhya Shekhar, and Shri Sanjay Kapoor. These individuals have been nominated to fill the four vacancies on the Central Board.
The shareholders’ meeting, originally announced on 23rd March 2026, will be held at the State Bank Auditorium, State Bank Bhavan, Madame Cama Road, Mumbai. The notice of this meeting was also published in the Gazette of India and various newspapers on 24th March 2026.
Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations must submit a physical request to the Managing Director (Corporate Banking & Subsidiaries) at the State Bank Bhavan, Mumbai, by 11th May 2026, no later than 5:00 PM.
