The DC universe has once again rallied around Harley Quinn and her notorious Suicide Squad, but Margot Robbie isn’t the only one in the spotlight.

Now, DC is mixing things up with an anime series — a fresh and visually stunning take on the anti-hero team. Titled Suicide Squad Isekai, this new series blends familiar DC characters with the vibrant aesthetics of anime. You’ll see fan favorites like Harley, Katana, King Shark, and Peacemaker, and even the Joker makes an appearance, a choice sure to stir some controversy given his tumultuous past with Harley.

Unlike traditional DC storylines, Suicide Squad Isekai isn’t bound by canon, allowing it to explore wild new narratives. Think of it as a mashup of David Ayers’ and James Gunn’s films, but with an anime twist. After being roped into the ARGUS program, Harley and the gang find themselves in an entirely different world — “isekai” means “another world” in Japanese. This new realm is filled with orcs and kingdoms, forcing the squad to navigate uncharted territory.
