Bethenny Frankel has made a big life change—she’s leaving Hollywood behind and moving to Florida. At first, she was pretty vague about why she decided to make the move, but recently she opened up more in a TikTok video posted on May 2, explaining both her professional and personal reasons.
Bethenny, famous from The Real Housewives of New York City, said she hadn’t even thought about moving until a whirlwind of events happened. Within just five weeks, she managed to sell and buy homes in both New York and Florida. While she’s keeping her city apartment, she sold her large house in New York and bought a new one down south.
She moved to the city with her 14-year-old daughter Bryn, whom she shares with her ex-husband Jason Hoppy. Bethenny’s previous house was huge—a sprawling property with a historic charm, an apple orchard, and all the things perfect for a big family with kids and grandparents. But living there with just her daughter ended up feeling lonely. “The house was drowning me,” she said.
Despite all the potential that beautiful house had, she spent a lot of time alone because she didn’t know many people in the neighborhood. That loneliness was tough, and eventually, she realized she didn’t want to live like that anymore. She wanted to simplify her life and focus on her mental peace.
Initially, Bethenny planned to wait until Bryn went off to college before making any major moves. But then a moment came where she saw that the situation was not only overwhelming her but also distracting her daughter—something they both avoided saying out loud. When she realized it was affecting Bryn, she knew she had to be honest with herself and make a tough but necessary decision.
In the end, Bethenny chose to put her own and her daughter’s well-being first by relocating to Florida and starting fresh.
