As of 9:31 AM EST today, the major U.S. stock indices displayed a mixed performance. The NASDAQ indices surged, fueled by strong gains in technology stocks, while broader market benchmarks such as the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average posted slight declines.
The S&P 500 opened at 6,024.66, down 0.25%, reflecting cautious sentiment amid ongoing concerns in key sectors. Similarly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.23%, trading at 43,196.91. Both indices faced pressure from weaker-than-expected performance in industrial and energy stocks.
The NASDAQ 100 climbed 1.37% to 21,797.65, while the NASDAQ Composite followed closely with a 1.35% rise, reaching 20,031.13. On the other hand, the NYSE Composite Index, however, mirrored the broader market’s struggle, falling 0.27% to 19,288.74.
