The S&P 500 Index rose by 0.22%, reaching 5,997.40, marking a modest gain in afternoon trading. Meanwhile, the NASDAQ 100 Index dipped by 0.14%, falling to 21,041.62, reflecting a minor pullback in tech-heavy stocks.

On the other hand, the Dow Jones Industrial Average performed better, climbing 0.35% to 44,064.00, bolstered by gains in several blue-chip stocks. The NYSE Composite Index also saw an uptick, increasing 0.25% to 19,903.38, signaling a positive trend for many stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
