Allies of former President Donald Trump have declared a victory in the recent presidential debate, while also levelling sharp criticisms at the moderators, accusing them of being biased “pro-Kamala activists.” The debate, which featured Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, has become a point of contention as both sides interpret the outcome differently.
Trump’s team and supporters argue that despite what they view as a skewed debate format, Trump effectively communicated his key messages and outperformed Harris. They claim that the moderators’ bias was evident in the way they questioned the candidates, with Trump’s allies accusing them of favouring Harris throughout the event.
“The debate was rigged from the start,” said a Trump spokesperson. “The moderators were biased in favour of Kamala Harris. It was like they were working for her campaign. Despite that, Trump managed to make his points and show why he should be president.”
Critics within Trump’s circle pointed to moments where they felt Harris was given more time to speak and received less challenging questions compared to Trump. They argue that the moderators’ approach reflected a pro-Democratic bias, which they believe unfairly tilted the debate in Harris’s favour.
In contrast, Harris’s campaign and supporters have praised her performance, highlighting her ability to address Trump’s attacks and stay focused on her policy agenda. They argue that the moderators were fair and that Harris demonstrated a commanding presence and clear vision for the country.
“This is just another example of Trump’s attempt to undermine the democratic process by attacking anyone who doesn’t align with his views,” said a Harris campaign representative. “The moderators did their job, and Kamala Harris was able to effectively communicate her plans and respond to Trump’s criticisms.”
The debate’s aftermath has seen both sides digging in their heels. Trump’s allies continue to argue that the debate was biased, using it as a rallying point to galvanize their base. Meanwhile, Harris’s supporters are focusing on her strong debate performance and the substantive policy discussions that took place.
