NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited (NLCIL), has signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited (SJVNL) for the development of a 200 MW wind power project. The agreement marks another step forward in India’s ongoing push to scale up renewable energy capacity and strengthen long-term power security.

The PPA was signed in Chennai by representatives of NIRL and SJVNL in the presence of senior leadership from both organisations. The signing ceremony was attended by Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLC India Limited and Chairman of NIRL, along with Shri Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN Limited. Senior directors from NLCIL and SJVNL were also present during the signing.

This 200 MW wind power project is part of SJVN’s 600 MW ISTS-connected Wind Power Projects under Wind-2 Tranche, which were awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The project is expected to generate nearly 500 million units of green electricity annually, contributing significantly to clean energy generation and reduction in carbon emissions.
