Gold and silver prices in India moved lower on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, tracking weakness in international bullion markets. Both precious metals saw a decline across key purity levels and major cities.

Gold prices today
Gold prices eased across all carats. The price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 13,386 per gram, down Rs 152 from the previous session. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold was priced at Rs 12,270 per gram, slipping Rs 140, while 18-carat gold settled at Rs 10,039 per gram, down Rs 115.

In major cities, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 13,386 per gram in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune. Chennai recorded a slightly higher rate at Rs 13,473 per gram, while Delhi saw prices at Rs 13,401 per gram. For 22-carat gold, rates hovered around Rs 12,270 per gram in most cities, with Chennai again quoting higher at Rs 12,350 per gram.

Silver prices today
Silver prices also declined sharply. Silver was priced at Rs 199.10 per gram, down Rs 3.90, while the price per kilogram stood at Rs 1,99,100, marking a fall of Rs 3,900 from the previous day.

Across key cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, silver traded at Rs 1,99,100 per kg. Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala quoted higher rates at around Rs 2,11,000 per kg.

Market participants note that domestic gold and silver prices remain sensitive to global cues, currency movements and expectations around interest rates. Local prices may vary further depending on taxes, making charges and jeweller margins.
