In view of the evolving national situation, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar has issued a directive cancelling all kinds of leave for its employees, including vacation and station leave, with immediate effect.
According to the office order dated May 9, 2025, issued under the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, no leave of any kind will be granted to officers, except on medical grounds, until further orders. The directive applies to all faculty members, residents, and other staff, including those who are currently on leave.
“Officers who are already on leave are directed to report back to duty immediately,” the circular states, citing the need for full workforce readiness in light of the impending situation flagged by the central government.

The move comes amid heightened national alert following recent defence and security developments.
The order is now in force across the institution and was issued with the approval of the competent authority at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
