Hollywood action fantasy film Mortal Kombat II continued its stable run at the Indian box office on Day 6 despite the usual weekday slowdown. Released on May 8, the sequel has managed to attract franchise fans and action movie audiences across metro cities.
As per trade estimates reported by Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹0.39 crore on Wednesday. With this, the movie’s total India net collection has crossed approximately ₹6.8 crore.
Mortal Kombat II stars Karl Urban, Lewis Tan and Hiroyuki Sanada in major roles. The film performed strongly during its opening weekend before witnessing a gradual dip in weekday collections.
Trade experts believe the movie’s action-heavy appeal and loyal fanbase are helping it maintain steady occupancy in premium formats and multiplexes. The film is also performing well globally, especially in North America and parts of Europe.
The upcoming weekend is expected to play an important role in deciding whether the sequel can continue its stable theatrical run in India.
