The Indian box office is gearing up for another busy weekend as multiple Bollywood, South Indian and regional films are set to release in theatres on Friday, May 15. The upcoming lineup includes romantic comedies, political dramas, horror-comedies and action entertainers, offering audiences a wide range of genres to choose from.
Among the most anticipated releases is Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the romantic comedy has already created strong buzz online because of its ensemble cast, comedy-filled trailer and chartbuster songs. Trade experts believe the film could emerge as the biggest Hindi opener of the week.
Another notable Bollywood release is Aakhri Sawal, a political thriller starring Sanjay Dutt, Sameera Reddy and Tridha Choudhury. The film recently received its CBFC clearance and is expected to attract audiences interested in intense drama and action-driven storytelling.
In the South Indian market, Telugu films Vrushakarma starring Naga Chaitanya and David Reddy featuring Manchu Manoj are also arriving in cinemas this Friday. Both films are expected to perform strongly in regional circuits due to their action-heavy themes and fan following.
Meanwhile, horror-comedy IIZ: Indian Institute of Zombies, Punjabi action entertainer Shera and Tamil film Karuppu are among the other releases hoping to attract audiences this weekend.
With a mix of comedy, action, horror and drama hitting theatres together, the upcoming Friday is expected to give moviegoers plenty of entertainment options across languages and genres.
