The upcoming season will premiere on June 21, 2026, on HBO and HBO Max, while Indian audiences are expected to stream it on JioHotstar shortly after the global release. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel Fire & Blood, which chronicles the history of House Targaryen nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The story focuses on the brutal Targaryen civil war known as the “Dance of the Dragons,” a conflict that tears the ruling family apart and pushes Westeros into chaos.

The behind-the-scenes clip features several major cast members including Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Fabien Frankel and Rhys Ifans. New additions like James Norton are also expected to play important roles in the escalating war storyline.

Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, the series is produced by HBO, with Ryan Condal continuing as showrunner. George R.R. Martin, Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy and Vince Gerardis also serve as executive producers on the project.
